Barbara Forrest is a Senior HR Consultant with Human Resource Management, Inc. Barbara has over 30 years of progressive, executive-level human resource experience, most recently as a Chief HR Officer and Risk Manager in Higher Education/State Government. Barbara has expertise in the areas of employment law, employee relations, internal investigations, employee engagement, corrective action/discipline, ethics, compliance, equal opportunity, policy development, performance management, job description development, recruitment, organizational development, classification and compensation, training (sexual harassment, safety, supervision, and workplace conduct), risk management, liability, and on-the-job- injury management.  

Barbara is a proven leader, receiving the honor as one of Birmingham’s “Top HR Executives by the Birmingham Business Journal. She has genuine respect for others and a coach and counsel approach.

Additionally, Barbara is a graduate and active member of Leadership Shelby County where she served as an officer for two years. She is a member of SHRM/ALASHRM and served as President of the Alabama Chapter of the College and University Professional Association for HR (CUPA-HR) for three years

Barbara is a Certified HR Professional, holding a PHR from the Human Resources Certification Institute. She attended FBI active shooter training and is a certified Internal Investigator. Barbara holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a concentration in human behavior and a minor in English from the University of Montevallo.
