Program Elements
Each individual program includes the following professional, technical, and clerical services:
Initial Meeting
- Immediate on-site consultation to both the management and separated employee.
- Personal meeting with the employee to provide program materials, to address the realities of job loss, and to develop a schedule for initiating the career transition process
- Discussion of program components and career options.
Career Assessment
- One of several unique assessment tools are utilized to assist each executive in identifying key professional attributes.
- Other tools may be used to assess motivation, the "driver" of career success.
- Feedback and discussion is offered to assist in making crucial career decisions.
Strategy Development
- A career transition target is defined based on key factors determined in personal assessment.
- Informational interviewing coaching increases awareness, confidence, and visibility.
- After target is defined, the method for pursuing it is determined accordingly: traditional job search, career change, self-employment/consulting, retirement, or business start-up.
Executing Strategy
- Identifying strengths and communicating them effectively.
- Overcoming any weaknesses or employment obstacles.
- Learning time management and self-organization as it applies to the job search process.
- Setting up a personalized strategy including the creation of a database for mailing.
- Practicing effective interviewing methods and negotiating new employment contracts.
- Applying advanced Internet and research techniques.
- Implementing practical job search techniques as warranted: networking, recruiters, advertisements, and other methodologies.
- Establishing long-range career planning.
Producing Marketing Materials
- Our consultants will prepare professional resumes and cover letters as "selling tools" that highlight accomplishments and competitive advantages.
Administrative Support
- Appropriate executive-level office facilities with necessary office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, personalized voicemail) are made available.
- Administrative assistance is provided for message taking, word processing, letter mailing, and research help.
- Computers with Internet accessed databases, including tutoring for all programs and technologies.
- Resources such as newspapers, on-line and hard copy directories and other publications are offered.
